Nantucket Basket by My Daughter

by Motoko, April 4, 2019

My youngest child (she turned 12 last week!) finished weaving her second basket. And this is her first “lidded” basket. Isn’t she good?

I made molds based on measurements of what she wants to store in the basket (wallet, phone, pen, note pad, small towel) and prepared the supplies.

This mold is to weave body of the basket.

And this mold is to weave lid of the basket.

My daughter is so good with her hands, and her attention to detail is second to none (I might be a bit biased here 😉 )

It’s lovely to see her always drawing, painting, sewing, reserching “how-to”s, and keep exploring her interests!
